In "POSTPOSITIONS," 18 alumni of HKU Design who graduated in the years 2020 and 2021 present work they have developed in the period after their graduation. This diverse group of young creators, originating from the study directions of Fashion Design, Product Design, and Spatial Design, responded to an open call, after which curator Lennart de Neef made the final selection. The title "POSTPOSITIONS" refers to the period after the study but also after COVID-19, after what has been: a period in which we need to reposition ourselves in a new world.
De Neef, himself an alumnus of HKU Product Design in 2016, designed several spaces within AG that represent different contexts and serve as settings in which the very diverse work of the exhibitors comes together. The resulting combinations of furniture, lamps, human figures, sculptures, videos, and works on the wall provide a dynamic picture of the emerging professional practice of the selected art and design talents.
